Creative Departures: A Photo Exhibition

From Saturday 2 October, fashion and photography fans will be able to experience a unique, one-time creative gallery and retail space as action sports and lifestyle brand GRAVIS drops a cargo container in the carpark of a Northern Beaches surf shop.

For just over one week, the carpark of The Sugarmill Fine Surf Emporium in Narrabeen will be home toCreative Departures, a GRAVIS photo exhibition and store contained within a shipping container.

Featuring photographic works by international artists Thomas Campbell, Arto Saari, Kassia Meador, Mark Oblow and Javier Mendizabal, the Creative Departures exhibition complements select pieces from the latest range of GRAVIS footwear, bags and luggage as the container is transformed into a mix of gallery and retail space, providing a unique twist to the pop-up concept.

The photographers exhibiting their works in Creative Departures are part of the GRAVIS family of artists and athletes, and whilst renowned for their accomplishments in surfing or skateboarding, Kassia Meador, Arto Saari, Javier Mendizabal & Mark Oblow are also renowned for their artistic endeavours. Joining them as part of the Gravis family is Thomas Campbell, an internationally celebrated artist and filmmaker whose creative life spawned from skateboarding.

Since 1998, GRAVIS has blurred the boundaries of action sports function and luxury style products. Gravis products are unique to the way we live. They are built to take you around the world and back, in style. It is the artists’ Creative Departures that inspires the latest GRAVIS collections of footwear, bags and luggage.

Following an official launch event on Friday 1 October, Creative Departures will be open to the public from Saturday 2 October until Sunday 10 October from 10am until 4pm daily.
